New Entry Badge Election Results
|
Voting on the six
designs put forward as contenders as the new official 95th
Entry Badge closed on 30th September 2002.
It was a very close contest with the winner
being decided by just one vote. However, only 18 votes
were received which is a little disappointing.
With so little interest being displayed, we
are not proposing any further actions.
A final version of this design is being
investigated. e.g. Sycamore instead of Huey.
Anyone who requires an electronic copy of
the final design should get in touch by email and a copy will
be forwarded, if possible.

The winning design
will be a feature on the newsletter heading and replace the
1SofTT badge previously used. |

The 40th Anniversary Re-Union (Saturday 12th April 2003)
The Spread Eagle Hotel, Thame. Telephone:
01844 – 213661. Fax: 01844 - 261380.
Thank you to the 33 people (18 guys and 15
partners) who have responded to the commitment request from
the most recent newsletter. We are thankful, but we need more
of you to let us know that you are intending to attend. To
maintain the level of negotiated discount, we need an
attendance of 100 people.
I appreciate that it is difficult to commit
to a choice of dinner menu so much in advance, but please bear
in mind that you will be permitted to change your mind on the
menu before the closure date of 28 February 2003.
Please, if you will, make your commitment to
attending by making your choice of main and sweet courses on
the appropriate docket and return as soon as you can together
with a deposit of £10.00 per head, or the full amount,
cheques payable to 95 Entry Fund, to:
Alf Banyard, 105 Stone Hill
Drive, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB1 5TS. UK.
The cut off time is 28th February 2003.
Another reminder may be sent early in the New Year, but there
is no time like the present.
Accommodation.
Your accommodation requirements for the
reunion night (Saturday) are your own responsibility. The
Spread Eagle obviously has rooms available and details of
local venues for the Thame area will be available from the
Thame Tourist Association.
Offers of put-u-ups for the Friday and/or
Sunday nights of the weekend from those that live
"locally" have been made. This is not guaranteed and
is on an availability basis, but if you are travelling a long
way and wish to take advantage, let us know as soon as
possible and we will see what we can do.

Anecdote.
Alf asked me to pop in a few words about one
of the more amusing aspects of our visit to Thame to meet up
with the committee. Pam and I decided to make a weekend of it
and we stayed at the Old Trout hotel. With Jenny nearing the
end of her time at university we are becoming a little more
adventurous. At the Old Trout we went up to our room. There
was a four poster bed, a walk in cupboard to hang one’s
coats and a TV angled nose down due to the angle of the floor.
Amidst this antiquity it was the door that captured ones
attention.
So what I hear you think?
See below for the answer.

Your eyes are not
playing tricks, this was genuinely the door height. At least
you were in no danger of banging your head.

Individual "Potted" Histories Update.
For the first re-union in 1993, everyone was
asked to provide a potted personal history of their lives
since leaving Halton in 1963.
It has now been proposed that those
histories are updated to bring them up-to-date. Therefore,
would everyone, especially those recently found, please give
consideration to doing just that and send to one of the
"committee" (addresses issued in previous mailings).
